“Well – if you’re already familiar with Pledge through The Young And Defenceless EP then we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to you. You helped us make that EP and we were overwhelmed with the support it received. We’re so happy with the EP and feeling right now about as at the top of our game as we’ve ever felt.

So what next? THE ALBUM! The whole process around the EP and the freedom that working with Pledge and you guys gave us was so liberating that we’re inspired to do it again! It feels like the momentum we started with Memory And Humanity and then continued with TYAD in terms of retaining control about how we make the record, and then how we choose to release it has started something we don’t want to stop right now. And you are a big part of that. So thank you! And read on..

As you’ll already know if you’re following us on Facebook , Twitter or any of the other community sites we’re pretty much on fire right now. We’ve just gone back into the studio with Romesh Dodangoda to start work on the album and continue the good work we started on the EP. And you know what – it’s still sounding awesome. We promised you that the fruits of our demoing labours with Rich now fully integrated into Funeral 3.0 would extend beyond the EP and that is happening right now, actually as you read this.

So again, if you want to get involved and be part of helping us make this record, you’re in the right place. We’ve honed the list of ways you can get involved in this project and you can check out the list on the right. We feel like pros at this now and we’ve taken everything we learnt from running the EP project and poured it into this – so we hope you like.

For those new to the Pledge system it’s a very cool way of getting you closer to the action as we record the album. You can opt to get a copy of the record or something a little more special – exactly with the EP. There are some different ideas here this time, loads of ways for you to get stuck in.

As with the EP, we’ll be posting Pledger-only updates here throughout the period and as before if you’re part of it you’ll have access to those. It’s the only place you’ll find them – we won’t be posting these to any of the blogs or to YouTube etc.

As a final note, a percentage of any profits from this project will be donated to charity, and we’ve chosen to support the Ty Hafan hospice which cares for children with limited life span. It’s a hugely worthy cause. Choosing to support Ty Hafan is our choice, not our managers, PledgeMusic’s or anyone else’s.

Early today our dear idols posted a note on myspace blog. They talk about the new cd and the new era of FFAF.
Here it is:

‘Your History Is Mine: 2002-2009′ – a collection of classic FFAF songs plus an EPs worth of new material!

On September 28 2009 Funeral For A Friend open another chapter in their career with the release of ‘Your History Is Mine: 2002-2009′ – a retrospective look at some of the band’s finest moments on record from their early days in South Wales right bang up to date with the inclusion of 4 brand new tracks.

The album is notable for being the first involving Gavin Burrough fully in the writing and recording process. ‘It’s made a huge difference having [Gav] come into the band as a fan, and almost like a spokesman for all the fans out there who’ve been wanting to hear elements of the band they fell in love with that maybe have been missing for a while,’ says drummer/vocalist Ryan Richards. ‘We’ve always said we never wanted to go backwards, but now we’ve been able to re-explore a lot of the old elements of what we did and make it sound brand new by having Gav’s musical and vocal input in there. It’s very exciting

Writing is good. Wrote the fastest song we’ve done since ‘The Art’ and ’10 Scene Points’. It’s a craaacker.

It’s a good news for those who keep whining for the “back of old and heavy ffaf songs”.

What’s content in this album? Probably is a ‘Greatest Hits‘ CD.
The band has worked in last months on new stuff in the studio and probably this CD will contain the new songs.
